Travelling with infantsYour flight may not be operated by Air Transat. Should this be the case, please refer to the note at the bottom of the page. A child is considered an infant until his or her second birthday. Prior to that point (2 years less a day), the infant travels on the parent's lap. For safety reasons, an adult may not travel with more than one infant at a time, no matter how many seats are purchased. Should you wish to purchase a seat for your infant, please note that it is mandatory for the infant to sit in a car seat approved by Transport Canada (click here for details). **Please note: If a child's second birthday occurs prior to the return leg of the trip, a ticket must be purchased for the child for the return flight and a seat will be assigned to him or her. Once you have boarded, you will receive a kit containing infant-care items. NewbornsNewborns less then 7 days old are not accepted for travel on board our flights. Infants aged 7 days and older will be accepted if the parents are in possession of all legal documents required by the country of destination. Be sure to speak with your travel agent about travelling with very young infants to avoid any unpleasant situations. For more information, visit the Canadian Transportation Agency web site. A comfortable bed for your baby!Air Transat offers onboard bassinettes for babies! These bassinettes, which are attached to the bulkhead, are approved by Transport Canada. They are a safe and comfortable way for your baby to travel during the flight. The infant's weight may not exceed 11 kg (24 lbs) and his or her height may not exceed the size of the bassinette 27 x 12 x 6 in (68 x 30 x 15 cm). Please take note that the number of seats allowing installation of bassinettes is limited. Seat selection is possible for a nominal charge by calling our Information and Seat Selection Centre at (44) 20 7616 9187 / 00800-28 38 76 73. It is important to know that the bassinette may be requested in advance, but is not confirmed until you board the aircraft and the in-flight crew can assess the suitability for your child. Baggage allowance for infantsInfants travelling on an adult's lap do not have a baggage allowance; however, some baby and child equipment (1 stroller, 1 car seat) is accepted free of charge. Any additional and/or substituted item (such as a playpen, booster seat, additional car seats, etc.) exceeding your free checked baggage allowance will be subject to excess baggage charges. MealsAlthough we don't provide meals for infants onboard, our crew will be happy to assist with warming your infant food brought from home. LIMO! ServiceTake advantage of our LIMO! courtesy stroller service which offers parents a break between the aircraft and baggage claim area in Montreal, Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver airports. Simply pick up a LIMO! for your young child after deplaning the aircraft and leave it with our agent before exiting. LIMOS! are available on a first-come, first-served basis. |
